Choose high-quality 8 mm laminate with a 240 mm wide-plank look, AC3 or AC4 wear classification, wax-treated V-groove/click details and selected EIR wood-textured designs. Wax treatment helps resist everyday surface spills when cleaned promptly; laminate is water-resistant, not waterproof. Ask about reliable independent professional floor installers with 10+ years’ experience, available by referral in selected areas. FlooringXpress supplies the material; labour and workmanship are quoted separately by the installer.

Glue-down LVT is a flexible vinyl plank installed using an adhesive system. It can deliver a clean timber-look finish, but correct substrate preparation is exceptionally important. Buyers should discuss moisture, flatness and adhesive compatibility with their installer before selecting the flooring.

What to compare between LVT products

Look at total product thickness, declared wear-layer thickness, plank dimensions, surface texture and residential or commercial use class. Do not compare glue-down LVT directly to 6mm rigid-core SPC based only on the word “vinyl”. The installation system and product construction are different.

Floor preparation is not optional

Glue-down vinyl needs a smooth, stable and suitably dry surface prepared to the adhesive and product manufacturer’s specification. Surface imperfections can show through thinner flooring. The installer should identify any levelling work or moisture mitigation needed before quoting labour.

Adhesive choice and installation conditions

Use a product-compatible adhesive and follow the specified conditions for temperature, open time and substrate moisture. The installer determines the method. Avoid installing over old coatings or contaminated screeds without appropriate evaluation.

Request an accurate materials quotation

FlooringXpress advertises glue-down LVT in its wider collection, but this page does not claim a fixed current LVT price. Send the measured m², suburb, intended room and desired timber tone on WhatsApp so the team can confirm product, stock, quote and accessories.

Why substrate preparation is critical for glue-down LVT

Thin glue-down luxury vinyl tiles can reveal unevenness or contaminants in the substrate more readily than buyers expect. A smooth-looking screed is not necessarily flat enough, dry enough or compatible with the adhesive. Ask the installer for the required moisture tests, primer, levelling compound, surface preparation and adhesive open time specified for the chosen product.

Compare installed cost rather than material-only price with SPC click flooring. Glue-down systems involve adhesive and preparation but can offer different installation characteristics. Do not purchase material on the assumption that it can be glued directly over every existing tile, painted surface or damp screed.

FlooringXpress supplies LVT materials; the fitting contractor must approve the site, quantities, adhesive system, joint plan and workmanship.

How this compares with 8 mm wide-plank laminate

Titan Classic and Titan Elite laminate offer a 240 mm timber-look plank, wax-treated click/V-groove details and AC3 or AC4 abrasion ratings. Selected laminate finishes have EIR-style wood-grain texture. They are water-resistant to limited surface spills, not waterproof; Titan SPC has a waterproof core. Choose by room conditions, overall material-and-fitting cost and the independent installer’s recommendations.

A purchasing decision worth checking

For glue-down lvt vinyl flooring: a buyer guide, compare the actual product specification and room conditions—not just a photograph or headline claim. Ask about wear class, core construction, fit method, treatment of surface spills and colour-batch continuity.

A usable quotation specifies material m², purchased full boxes, required underlay, skirting or profiles and delivered cost. An independent fitter should assess moisture, subfloor flatness and laying details before work is scheduled.

Questions buyers ask

Is glue-down LVT the same as SPC click vinyl?

No. SPC uses a rigid click system; LVT glue-down relies on an adhesive-bonded installation.

Why is the subfloor so important?

Thin vinyl can follow underlying irregularities; smoothness, dryness and compatibility with adhesive are essential.

Can FlooringXpress recommend a reliable installer?

Ask our team about independent professional flooring installers, including experienced fitters with 10+ years of installation experience, subject to your area and current availability. Installation labour, site assessment, fitting dates and workmanship terms are agreed directly with the installer; FlooringXpress supplies the flooring materials.
